THE BLUES MAMAS AT WORK
MISSISSIPPI BLUES MAMAS AT WORK
HIT THE ROAD ENTERTAINMENT & MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES, INC.
Mississippi Blues Mamas Managers/Promoters Peggy and Carol’s personal mission is to be a conduit between the musician and the public; providing help, promotion and education in the various forms needed by each entity. The hope is that the musician’s professional goals will be accomplished, they will be recognized for their talent; and the public will be more aware of the rich heritage of the blues art form which originated in Mississippi, The Birthplace of Americas Music.
Carol Marble and Peggy Brown met several years ago. Each had seen each other at blues events and realized the uniqueness of what each one was doing at that time in the promotion of blues in Mississippi. Introducing themselves to each other, they began to occasionally collaborate on joint projects and soon became known as the Mississippi Blues Mamas. So, throughout the years they each developed their own companies and bodies of work but also have continued to collaborate on joint projects. Each has been asked many times “just what is it that you do?” There is a complex answer to this question with overlapping answers.
Peggy Brown is the founder of the company Hit the Road Entertainment and Carol Marble is the founder of the company Mississippi Delta Blues, Inc. and Mississippi Delta Records. Each has had various roles and titles in their respective company. The title of Manager/Booking Agent seems to be a title that is more commonly understood in the music industry but Peggy and Carol aren’t boxed in by titles.
